Andrew Butler

Andrew is an experienced and versatile IP practitioner, having been a partner at a top-tier law firm for a number of years and subsequently a principal at a boutique IP firm, having assisted the latter firm with establishing an office in Melbourne.

He now operates as a sole practitioner under the trading name Flinders Lane IP.

Andrew has a background in chemical engineering, but has had exposure to a broad range of technologies including mining and mineral processing, medical devices, and general mechanical methods and apparatus.

He has also acted for large multinational brand owners in markets as diverse as the automotive and wine industries, and for companies in the fast-moving consumer goods sector.

In the drafting and prosecution of patent applications, the filing and prosecution of trade marks and designs, and in the defence of those IP rights.
